The First Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh was Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, who held his office from 1 November 1956 to 11 January 1960 and 12 March 1962 to 20 February 1964.He was the Sixth President of India, serving from 1977 to 1982.He was a Member of the Indian Constituent Assembly from Madras.Reddy was elected to the Lok Sabha from Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh.He died of pneumonia in Bangalore in 1996 at the age of 83. Reddy authored a book, Without Fear or Favour: Reminiscences and Reflections of a President, published in 1989.

Second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – Damodaram Sanjivayya (11 January 1960 to 12 March 1962)

Damodaram Sanjivayya was Second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 11 January 1960 to 12 March 1962.He was the first Dalit Chief Minister of an Indian state.He was the member of the provisional parliament 1950–52.He was Minister of Labour and Employment under Lal Bahadur Shastry between 9 June 1964 and 23 January 1966.He was the youngest chief minister ever in India.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – Kasu Brahmananda Reddy (21 Feb 1964 to 30 Sept 1971)

Kasu Brahmananda Reddy was the Third Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 21 Feb 1964 to 30 Sept 1971.On 3 June 1977, he was elected president of the Indian National Congress.During his tenure as the Chief Minister, Jalagam Vengal Rao, the Home Minister was instrumental in suppressing the Naxal movement in the north coastal Andhra Pradesh. He also held key positions such as Telecommunications Minister, Home Minister of India (1974–1977) and Governor of Maharashtra (20 February 1988 to 18 January 1990).He died on 20 May 1994.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – P. V. Narasimha Rao (30 Sept 1971 to 10 January 1973)

P.V. Narasimha Rao was the Fourth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 30 Sept 1971 to 10 January 1973.He was an Indian lawyer and politician who served as the 9th Prime Minister of India from 1991 to 1996.He served as an elected representative for Andhra Pradesh state assembly from 1957 to 1977.He served in various ministerial positions in Andhra government from 1962 to 1973.He served as Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Andhra Pradesh districts in 1972.He served as Foreign minister from 1980 to 1984 and then from 1988 to 1989.Rao was awarded the Pratibha Murthy Lifetime Achievement Award.He died on 23rd December 2004.

Jalagam Vengala Rao was the Fifth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 10 December 1973 to 6 March 1978.He was also twice elected to the Lok Sabha – the lower house of the Parliament of India – as a representative of the Khammam district constituency.In 1968, he became State Home Minister in the state government headed by Kasu Brahmananda Reddy.He initiated a World Telugu Conference in Hyderabad in 1975.He died on 12 June 1999.

Marri Chenna Reddy was the Sixth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 6 March 1978 to 11 October 1980, 3 December 1989 to 17 Dec 1990.He also served as the governor of Uttar Pradesh (1974–1977), governor of Punjab (1982–1983), governor of Rajasthan from February 1992 to May 1993, and governor of Tamil Nadu from 1993 until his death.He was among the stalwarts who headed the Telangana movement of the Andhra Pradesh in the late 1960s.He also has the credit of being one of the youngest ministers; He became a minister of Andhra Pradesh at the age of 30.He was elected to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly again from Vikarabad constituency.He died on 2 December 1996.

Tanguturi Anjaiah was the Seventh Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 11 October 1980 to 24 February 1982.He rose from being a worker at Hyderabad Allwyn Limited in Hyderabad to a trade union leader and later Union Labour Minister.Lumbini Park in Hyderabad was renamed as T. Anjaiah Lumbini park in his memory in 2006.He was in public life till his sudden death in 1986.

Rama Rao was the Tenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 9 January 1983 to 16 August 1984, 16 Sept 1984 to 2 December 1989, 12 Dec 1994 to 1 September 1995.He was an Indian actor, producer, director, film editor and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms.NTR has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Awards for his performance in the Raju Peda (1954) and the Lava Kusa (1963).He awarded with Padma Shri from Government of India in 1968.He died of a heart attack on 18 January 1996 at his residence in Hyderabad, aged 72.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – N. Janardhana Reddy (17 December 1990 to 9 October 1992)

N.Janardhana Reddy was the Twelfth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 17 December 1990 to 9 October 1992.A member of the Indian National Congress, he represented the Visakhapatnam constituency in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian legislature. He entered politics in 1972 and was elected to the Rajya Sabha.In 1978, he became the general secretary of the state congress; he was later elected to the Legislative Council.He was elected to Lok Sabha thrice, one each from the Bapatla (1998), Narsaraopet (1999) and Visakhapatnam (2004) constituencies.He represented Visakhapatnam as a congress member, and he served as President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee in 1988.He died on 9th May 2014.

N.Chandrababu Naidu was the Thirteenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1 September 1995 to 13 May 2004, 8 June 2014 to 29 May 2019.He is an Indian politician and current leader of opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly.He is the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and the longest-serving Chief Minister (14 years in office) of Andhra Pradesh.He became a Congress (I) member of the Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly (MLA) for Chandragiri constituency in 1978.He took the initiative to select K. R. Narayanan from the Dalit community as President of India.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh – Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy (14 May 2004 to 2 September 2009)

Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy was the Fourteenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 14 May 2004 to 2 September 2009.He was elected to the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Lok Sabha from the Kadapa constituency for four terms and to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for five terms from the Pulivendula constituency.In 2003 he undertook a three-month-long paadayaatra, or walking tour, of 1,475 kilometres (917 mi) during the very hot summer months, across several districts in Andhra Pradesh as a part of his election campaign.On 2 September 2009, a helicopter carrying Reddy went missing in the Nallamala Forest area.He died on 2 September 2009.

Konijeti Rosaiah was the Fifteenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 3 Sept 2009 to 24 November 2010.He was previously an MLC, MLA and MP from the Indian National Congress numerous times.While serving as Governor of Tamil Nadu, he was also given additional responsibility as Governor of Karnataka.He began as a political disciple of Swatantra Party leader and independence activist N.G. Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy was the sixteenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 25 November 2010 to 1 March 2014.He was elected to Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1989.He served as member of the Public Undertakings Committee and Assurance Committee.He was elected to the state assembly from Native Vayalpadu (Valmikipuram) in 1989, 1999 and 2004.He was unanimously elected as Speaker of the 13th Andhra Pradesh Assembly in June 2009.On 19 February 2014, he resigned from the post of Chief Minister, as MLA (legislator) and also from the Congress party.

Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy was the Seventeenth Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 30 May 2019 to Incumbent.He is also the founder and president of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).He is the son of the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.In 2009, he was elected as Member of Parliament from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency.He is the Current Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.
