NATIONAL PARKS IN INDIA:
This series of national parks is very helpful for candidates who are preparing for any government examination. Especially UPSC, SSC candidates are asked regularly. This series is very extensive series witch details that can be asked like river in national park or wildlife in those national parks. This list includes national parks of J&k, U.K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. There is no national park in Punjab.

NATIOANL PARK IN JAMMU &KASHMIR
Dachigam National Park:-
- Dachigam means Ten Village
- In Zabarwan range of Western Himalaya
- Dagwan river flow (originates from Mansar lake)
- Ecosystem
- Coniferous forest with alpine pastures
- Meadows, waterfalls, scrub vegetation with deep gullies.
- Famous for Kashmiri Hangul (Project Hangul)
Hemis National Park:-
- In eastern Ladakh
- Some parts of Zanskar rang
- Only national park that is in north of Himalaya
- High altitude national park
- Largest national park
- In north INDUS River, also includes catchment area of Markha, Sumdha, Rumbak river.
- Ecosystem
- Karakoram-West Tibetan Plateau
- Alpine steppe ecoregion, alpine forest, alpine shrub, meadows and alpine tundra.
- Important destination or point in Silk Route of Tibet
- Famous for Snow Leopard(highest density)
Kishtwar National Park:-
- Located on plateau
- Above Chenab River and Below Nagin Sheer Glacier
- In North Rinnay River, In South Kibar Nala Catchment area
- In East Main divide of Great Himalaya and In West Marwa River
- Ecosystem
- Coniferous Alpine Meadow and scrub forest
NATIONAL PARKS IN UTTRAKHAND
Jim Corbett National Park
- Oldest national park
- First N.P. to come under PROJECT TIGER
- Patlidun valley formed by Ramganga River
- Part of Upper Ganges Plains
- Ecosystem
- Moist deciduous forest and Himalayan Subtropical pine forest
Nanda Devi National Park
- On peak of Nanda devi
- Rishi ganga river
- After adjoining valley of flowers nanda devi national park turns into NANDA DEVI BIOSPHERE RESERVE i.e. World Heritage Site
- Many glaciers namely uttar rishi and dakshin rishi glacier , ramani and trishul glacier too.
Valley Of Flower National Park
- Known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers
- Location at transition zone between Zanskar and Great Himalaya
- Between eastern Himalaya and western Himalaya
- Pushpavati River
- Gouri parbat is highest point
Rajaji National Park
- Tiger reserve
- Named after C.RAJAGOPALACHARI
- Reverine vegetation\river:- ganga, chilla, sushna
- Low altitude so broad leaved deciduous forest
- Scrubland grassland, pine forest
Gangotri National Park
- High variation in elevation so diverse biomes like subtropical, alpine meadows, coniferous forest, glacial area combined with lush green meadows
- Gomukh Glacier-ganga origin inside park
- Bhagirathi river
- Border with china
Gobind Pashu Vihar National Park
- In higher gharwal region
- Western Himalayan broad leaf forest at its lowest elevations, transitioning to subalpine coniferous forest and alpine shrub meadows at highest elevation
