State Bank of India (SBI) has released the admit card for the prelims exam for Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment on their official website. The exam would be held in online mode by 29th and 30th April and 6th and 7th May 2017. Till 7th May, the admit card will be available for download. Also, the admit card would not be dispatched to the aspirant by post as aspirants are expected to download and take a printout of the same.

To help the aspirants about exam related stuffs, the bank has released an ‘Acquaint yourself booklet’. Complete information about the exam is provided in this booklet .Different aspects connected to the exam is provided in this booklet. The different test kinds are explained in detail in the said brochure. Aspirants are advised to read the same carefully as it would help them to prepare well for the exam similar to referring standard textbooks like NCERT.

Things to carry for the exam:

Candidates must carry the following items:

  • Admit card
  • One photo identity proof viz. passport/Adhar/PAN card/Driving Licence/Voter’s card/Bank passbook attested by school or college/gazetted officer.

Note: The identity proof should be submitted at the time of examination.

Aspirants who clear the prelims exam would be called in for the mains exam. For the ones who had cleared the mains, the next stage would be of personal interview and group exercises.

The prelims exam results would be announced on 17th May 2017. The mains online exam will be held on 4th June 2017 for which the results would be declared on 19th June 2017. The interview and group exercises will be done from 10th July 2017 onwards. Final results will be released on 5th August 2017.

How to download the Admit Cards:

  • Visit the IBPS website for SBI exam
  • Click the relevant link
  • Input the candidate registration number and password
  • Click the submit button
  • The card will be displayed on the screen
  • Download the same and keep a print out for future reference

Main examination:

Objective test: There will be around 155 questions based on computer aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, English language and banking/general/economy awareness. The total marks for the exam will be 200.

Descriptive test: Also known by the name essay test, the test has a maximum score of 50 marks with duration of 30 minutes (letter writing).  Aspirants are advised to refer NCERT Books to have deep understanding about various topics. The test would be assessed on the basis of qualifying marks in tests (objective).

Interview and group exercises: The total marks of aspirants in the descriptive and objective test would be tabled in descending order category wise.

Earlier, the notification of recruitment for 2,313 probationary officers in the bank was released on 6th February 2017. The registration process (online) for the same began on 7th February and ended on 6th March 2017.
