Correct Answers

1. 12*36M=18*60W

1M= 5/2W

8M+20W=8* 5/2+ 20W =40W

40*20+ x*4=18*60

X=70W

                Option (A)

2. 40*x = (500+x)*35

X=3500

(200*900)/280*750= x/23*7=> x= 138days

Options (B)

3. Emptied part by the third pipe in 1 hour

=(1/2+1/3)-1/12=1/4 Part

So, time taken by the third pipe to empty the tank= 4hrs

   Option (B)

4. 12 Children*16days= 8adults *12days

192 children =96 adults.

Work done in 3 days by 16 adults= 16* (1/96)*3=1/2 Parts

So, (6adults+ 4 children’s) 1 days work= 6/96 +4/192 = 1/12

1/12 work is done by them in 1 day.

½ work will be done by them in= 12* ½= 6days

   Option (A)

5.

6.

Part of tank filled in one hour by inlet pipe = 1/12 – 1/15= 1/60Part

So, capacity of tank = (60*60*5)Liters.

18000 Liters.

Option (D)

7.

8.

(2M+3B)*10= (3M+2B)*8

20M+30B = 24M+16B

4M=14B

M/B =7/2

  • Total work = 200
  • 2M+1B can do in = 12 ½ days.

       Option (C)

9. Given, P+Q= 1/6

Q+R= 7/60

Work done by Q and R for 6 days= (7*6)/60= 42/60

Remaining work= 1- 42/60= 18/60= 3/10

No of days taken by P to complete the work= (10*3)*3 =10days

No of days taken by Q to complete the work=

1/(1/6-1/10)=15days

No of days taken by R to complete the work=

1/(7/60-1/15)= 20days

Required no of days= 20-10= 10days.

       Option (A)

10. (2M+3W+4C)*10/10 = (6M+4W+7C)*D/16

M            :               W            :               C

5                              :               4              :               2

(10+12+8)= (30+16+14)*D/16

= 30*16/16 =D

   = D => 8 days
