1). Two years hence the average age of A & B is 37. Three years ago the age of B is 36. If C is 11 years older than A then, find the sum of present ages of A & C?

Sol. A+B present age = 74-4=70
B present age= 36+3=39
Apresent age= 70-39= 31
C present age= 31+11= 42
A+C= 73

2). A &B invest Rs. 116000 &144000 respectively. B invests for 6 months . At the end of the year B’s share 9000 find the overall profit?

Sol.   A:B= 29*2:36*1= 29:18
Overall profit= 47*9000/18= 23500

3). Length & speed of the train A is 170m &20m/s. Length of the train B is 180m both running at opposite direction & time taken by the trains to cross each other is 10sec. Find speed B’s speed.

Sol. B speed=350/10 – 20= 15

12). A vessel contains a mixture of milk and water in the ratio 6:1. 7 liters of a mixture is taken out and replaced with 3 liters of water. The content of water is now 14.5% of the total mixture. Find the original content of water.

Sol. Initially mixture m: w= 6:1 After removal (-7L mix) , again m:w = 6:1
Now finally water content = 14.5%
So m:w = 855/145= 171/29
This happens because we added 3 litres of water. So concentration of milk should be same .
M:w >> initially=6:1
>> Finally= 171/29
342/57>>>>> 342/58
1===3L
Initial water = 3+ 1/7*7 = 4 L

13). A can do a work in 24 days. He worked alone for 15 days and then B joined and they finished the work in 5 days. In how many days can B alone do the work.
