I. The total sum of the ages of Ankur and Devendra is 50 years.
II. Ganesh is 15 years younger than Devendra.
A. Only statement I alone is sufficient to answer the question, while statement II alone is not sufficient to answer the question.
B. Only statement II alone is sufficient to answer the question, while statement I alone is not sufficient to answer the question.

Let, the age of Ankur, Chandra, Devendra and Ganesh be A, C, D and G, respectively.
From the question we have,
A + C + D + G = (35×4) = 140 years ….. (i)
From statement I we have,
A + D = 50
A = 50 – D …… (ii)
From statement II, we have
G = D – 15 …. (iii)
Now, we have four variables and three equations. To find the values of all the variables, we need four equations. Therefore, neither statement I nor statement II is sufficient to answer the question.

2. Calculate the principal amount?
I.The compound interest on the principal amount for two years is Rs. 700 higher than the simple interest on the same amount at the same rate for the same time period.
II. The interest rate on the amount is said to be 20% only.

I: The ratio of the number of packets of Maggie to Yipee is 3:2.
II: The number of packets of Maggie is 50% more than Yippee and the number of packets of Maggie is 60% of the total number of packets.

III: The cost price of a bottle of Pepsi is Rs.40.
A. Statement I and II is sufficient to answer the question.

Combining statement I and II we get,
20% discount is offered on the M.R.P.
Rs. 20 discount is offered on the M.R.P.
So, 20% of M.R.P. = 20

Discount of Rs. 20 is offered on the M.R.P.
So, selling price = M.R.P. – 20
Profit = 100%
So, selling price = 2×(cost price)

Given, cost price = Rs. 40
So, selling price = 2×40 = Rs. 80
So, M.R.P. = 80 + 20 = Rs. 100
Thus, option b is correct.
Combining I and III we get,

5. The distance between two shores of a river is 50 km. The speed of stream is 2/3rd the speed of boat in still water. What is the speed of a boat in still water?
I. In the same time, the boat can travel five times as far with the stream as it can against the stream.
II. The time taken to travel from one shore to the other with the stream is 2 hours lesser than the time taken to travel against the stream.
