Chief Minister of Uttarakhand – Nityanand Swami (2000-2001)
Nityanand Swami was the First Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 09 Nov 2000 to 29 Oct 2001.In 1969 Swami was first elected as the member of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Dehradun constituency.In 1984, he was elected into the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council from the graduate constituency of Garhwal and Kumaon.Swami represented the constituency of Garhwal and Kumaon for three years. He became Deputy Chairman of the Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh in 1991 and was unanimously elected the Chairman of the same in 1992.Swami was elected the chairman of the up legislative council in 1992.He died at the age of 84, at the Combined Medical Institute (CMI), Dehradun on 12 December 2012.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand – Bhagat Singh Koshyari (2001-2002)
Bhagat Singh Koshyari was the Second Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 30 Oct 2001 to 1 March 2002.He is an Indian politician serving as the Governor of Maharashtra and the Governor of Goa.Koshyari served as National Vice President of BJP and party’s 1st State president for Uttarakhand.He was the leader of the opposition in the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly from 2002 to 2003. He has also served as an MLC in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council (when Uttarakhand was part of undivided Uttar Pradesh) and MLA in Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.Later Served as an MP in Rajya Sabha from 2008 to 2014 from Uttarakhand.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand – Narayan Datt Tiwari (2002-2007)
Narayan Datt Tiwari was the Third Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2 March 2002 to 7 March 2007.He was formerly in the Praja Socialist Party and later joined the Indian National Congress. In 2017 January he joined Bharatiya Janata Party.He was a three-time Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh (1976–77, 1984–85, 1988–89) and served once as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand (2002–2007).Between 1986 and 1988, he served in Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s cabinet, first as Minister for External Affairs and then as Minister of Finance. He served as Governor of Andhra Pradesh from 2007 until 2011.Tiwari died on his 93rd birthday on 18 October 2018 in New Delhi from multiple organ failure.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand – Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri (2007-2009, 2011-2012)
Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri was the Fourth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 7 March 2007 to 26 June 2009 and 11 Sept 2011 to 13 March 2012.He was a Member of Parliament in the 16th Lok Sabha representing the Garhwal parliamentary constituency of Uttarakhand and is a senior member of the Bharatiya Janta Party. Earlier, he was a cabinet minister, Ministry of Surface Transport of the government headed by the former Prime Minister of India, Atal Bihari Vajpayee.He is the member of Parliament from the Garhwal Lok Sabha Constituency in 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 16th Lok Sabha.

Ramesh Pokhriyal was the Fifth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 27 June 2009 to 10 Sept 2011.He is known by his nom de plume Nishank is an Indian politician who was appointed on 31 May 2019 to serve as Minister of Human Resource Development in the Second Modi ministry, and as of July 2020, following the ministry’s name change, his title was changed to Minister of Education.He represents the Haridwar Parliamentary constituency of Uttarakhand in the 17th Lok Sabha.

Vijay Bahuguna was the Sixth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 13 March 2012 to 31 Jan 2014.He is the eldest son of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna, an independence activist and eminent politician, and also a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.Vijay Bahuguna was a member of the 14th and 15th Lok Sabhas of India.He represented the Tehri Garhwal constituency of Uttarakhand and is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party.He resigned from his CM post on 31 January 2014.

Harish Rawat was the Seventh Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 1 February 2014 to 27 March 2016, 21 April 2016 to 22 April 2016 and 11 May 2016 to 18 March 2017.A five-time Member of Parliament, Rawat is a leader of the Indian National Congress party.As a member of 15th Lok Sabha, Rawat served as Union Minister of Water Resources in the cabinet of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh from 2012 to 2014.He also worked as Minister of State at the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Food Processing Industries and Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Chief Minister of Uttarakhand – Trivendra Singh Rawat (2017-Incumbent)
Trivendra Singh Rawat was the Eighth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 18 Mar 2017 to Incumbent.He was a member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh from 1979 to 2002 and held the post of organising secretary of the Uttarakhand region, and later the Uttarakhand state, after the state’s formation in 2000.He was elected from Doiwala in the State’s first legislative assembly elections in 2002.He retained his seat in the 2007 elections and served as the State’s Minister of Agriculture.He is Current Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
