Important Time and Work Practice Questions

Correct Answers

1.   Option (B)

1st day=3/8

Remaining=5/8

2nd day= 4/5*5/8=1/2

Remaining( unread)= 5/8-1/2=1/8

1/8 of X=45, => X=45*8=360

2.     Option (A)

(2M+5W)*12= (5W+2W)*9=work

21W=42W

M= 2W…….(i)

Work= (2M+5W)*12=9*12W

Work done by 3 women in days= 9*12W/3W=36

3.   Option (B)

4. Option (A)

Let B alone can complete a work in t days then,

15/60+30/t=1

  • T=40

Required time=40*60/40+60=24days

5.  Option (D)

6.   Option (B)

(M*D*H)/W => 3*4=6*D =>D = 2Days

7. Option (C)

8. Option (C)

I II

Efficiency     3            :             1 =  4

Total Work=36*4=> Slower pipe will full in =36*4/1=144min

9. Option(A)

(3B+4G)7/7560=(11B+13G)8/30080

B/G=5/3

(7B+9G) earn in 1 day= (7*200+9*120)=2480

10. Option (D)

Assume that each of them works for only one hour a day.

Then, Asha can finish the work in 15*8=120days.

Bandu can finish the same work in (20/3)*9=60days.

Now, both of them together can finish the work in

=(120*60)/120+60=40days.

10hours 9days.therefore,they can finish the work in     4days.
