Western Coalfields Ltd Targets 100 MT Coal Production by FY27
- Coal India arm Western Coalfields Ltd (WCL) has set an ambitious target of 100 million tonnes (MT) production by 2026-27 and plans to set up 20 more mines in the next four years, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said.
- Inaugurating three mines of WCL through video conferencing, the road transport, highways and MSME minister also asked the company to employ more ”sons of the soil” in its projects.

- Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have topped an index that ranked states ensuring food safety in 2019-20, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said.
- The index ranks states on five parameters of food safety: human resources and institutional data, compliance, food testing facility, training and capacity building besides consumer empowerment.

- Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region, Dr. Jitendra Singh today said ‘awareness’ and not ‘anxiety’ is the key to fighting COVID-19. Launching COVID BEEP, India’s first indigenous, cost effective, wireless physiological parameters monitoring system for COVID-19 patients, Dr Singh said COVID BEEP is to emerge as an antidote to the original COVID.

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority to invest Rs 5,683.50 crore in Jio Platforms for 1.16% stake
- Its seventh deal in the last seven weeks, Reliance Jio on Sunday said a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) will invest Rs 5,683.50 crore for a 1.16% equity stake in Jio Platforms. The transaction values Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs 4.91 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 lakh crore.
- With the latest investment the company has got a total investment of Rs 97,885.65 crore from eight deals as Silver Lake and it co-investors made an additional investment.
