PM Modi holds India-Australia virtual summit with PM Scott Morrison
- India and Australia on Thursday inked a landmark agreement for reciprocal access to military bases for logistics support besides firming up six more pacts to further broad base ties after Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart Scott Morrison held an online summit.

- Eight institutes in the top 100, India is the third most represented country in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Ranking.
- The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore retains its top position in the country by attaining the 36th spot globally, eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have also been featured in the top 100. Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala to buy 1.85% stake in Reliance Jio platforms for Rs 9093.6 Cr
- Abu Dhabi-based sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company will buy 1.85 per cent stake in Jio Platforms for Rs 9,093.6 crore, RIL said.
- With this investment, Jio Platforms has raised Rs 87,655.35 crore from leading global technology and growth investors, including Facebook, Silver Lake, Vista Equity Partners, General Atlantic, KKR and Mubadala, in less than six weeks.
- The investment from Mubadala comes in Jio Platforms at an equity value of Rs 4.91 lakh crore and an enterprise value of Rs 5.16 lakh crore.

CCI gives nod to Peugeot and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles merger
- The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has approved the proposed merger between Peugeot S.A. and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V.
- The proposed combination pertains to merger between Peugeot S.A. (PSA) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. (FCA).
- PSA is a publicly listed limited liability company incorporated in France. RBI creates Payments Infrastructure Development Fund to Boost Digitisation
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Friday it is creating a Payments Infrastructure Development Fund to push digital payments across the country.
- The central bank will make an initial contribution of Rs 250 crore covering half the fund. The remaining will come from the card-issuing banks and card networks operating in the country. This fund has been created to encourage acquirers to deploy point of sale (PoS) infrastructure, both physical and digital, in tier three to six centres and northeastern states.
