Explanation: Leading the digital transformation in governance, Jammu and Kashmir has become the first union territory (UT) in India to have entirely shifted to digital mode of administration. According to an order issued by the UT chief secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, all governance and administrative services in the state are now ‘only’ available digitally.
The UT administration on Tuesday constituted a ‘coordination cell’ for monitoring the progress on implementation of online services in Jammu and Kashmir. “Sanction is hereby accorded to constitution of a Coordination Cell in the General Administration Department under the overall supervision of Vikas Verma, JKAS Additional Secretary, (GAD), to monitor the daily progress of online services being provided in various districts of Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the J&K administration order said.
The UT administration has designated four state civil services officers as members of the coordination cell. Among the members of the cell include JKAS officer Rajan, JKAS Deputy Secretary, GAD, Neha Bakshi, JKAS Under Secretary, Information Technology Department, Roopali Arora.

7. India’s merchandise exports decreased how much percentage from a year earlier to $34.5 billion in December 2022.
Explanation: It is now clear how a developing recession in the west is affecting India’s overseas commerce. Due to a downturn in demand from important markets following aggressive rate hikes by major central banks and an unfavourable base, merchandise exports decreased 12.2% from a year earlier to $34.5 billion in December 2022, the second decline in three months. In October, exports of goods had decreased by 16.65% on a yearly basis; however, November saw a flat growth.
In December, imports decreased as well, though more slowly, by 3.5% to $58.2 billion, which was a result of the recent slowdown in domestic goods demand.
Additionally, the value of imports and exports has been impacted by the decline in global commodity prices.
The trade deficit increased from $22.6 billion to over $23.8 billion in December as a result of higher imports, while it was still well below the record $30 billion imbalance reached in July.
In the September quarter, India’s current account deficit (CAD) increased to $36.4 billion, an all-time high in absolute terms and 4.4% of GDP, mostly due to a record deficit of $83.5 billion.

Makki has been a long-time aide toLeT’s Amir Hafiz Saeed, and is considered crucial to the organization’s operations. In addition to being a member of the Jamaat-Ul-Dawa/top Lashkar-e-Taiba’s family, Makki has served as a member of the Shura and a member of the JuD’s central and proselytising teams.
His primary strength is in raising funds for the LeT’s operations. He was born in Bahawalpur, Punjab Province of Pakistan, and is the deputy chief of LeT and head of the political affairs wing of JUD/LeT. Makki has occupied various leadership roles within Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a US-designatedForeign Terrorist Organisation (FTO). He has also played a role in raising funds for LeT operations.

Explanation: The India-Bangladesh Friendship pipeline (IBFPL) will start supplying diesel to Bangladesh on an experimental basis from June 2023. State Minister for Power, Nasrul Hamid, announced that the India-Bangladesh Friendship pipeline (IBFPL) will start supplying diesel to Bangladesh on an experimental basis from June this year.
The pipeline, which is 131.5 kilometers long, has been constructed for importing diesel from India, with 126.5 kilometers in Bangladesh and 5 kilometers in India.
Pre-commissioning for diesel imports through the pipeline is currently underway.
The international pipeline will transport diesel from the Siliguri-based marketing terminal of the Numaligarh Refinery Limited to the Parbatipur depot of the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.
The pipeline has a capacity of one million metric tonne per annum (MMTPA) and is being built under grant assistance from the government of India.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the IBFPL was held in September 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through video conferencing.

The purpose of the conference was to interact with bankers to increase post-harvest pledge finance against e-NWRs issued by warehouses registered by WDRA and evolve mechanisms that would improve the ease of doing business.
Bankers present at the conference have expressed their satisfaction with the e-NWR system established by WDRA as it provides them with considerable safety and comfort against loans advanced by them against warehouse receipts.
