1.What percent of the JBL and Philips earphones combined remained unsold in 2017?
Total number of JBL and Philips earphones manufactured in 2017 = 72000 + 88000 = 1,60,000
Total number of JBL and Philips earphones sold in 2017 = 54000 + 66000 = 1,20,000
Total number of JBL and Philips earphones that remain unsold in 2017 = 160000 – 120000 = 40,000
Percentage of unsold earphones = (40000/160000)× 100 = 25%
2.Total number of earphones manufactured by Samsung in 2017 are 35% more than the earphones manufactured by Boat in 2017 and number of earphones sold by Samsung in 2017 are 32% more than the earphones sold by Philips in 2017. Find the number of Samsung earphones which remain unsold in 2017.
Total number of earphones sold by all the five companies in 2017 = 54000 + 51000 + 66000 + 39000 + 60000 = 2,70,000.

4.What is the ratio of the number of unsold Philips and Boat earphones together in 2017 to the number of earphones sold by JBL and Skullcandy together in 2017?
Number of unsold Philips earphones in 2017 = 88000 – 66000 = 22,000
Number of unsold Boat earphones in 2017 = 65000 – 39000 = 26,000
Total number of unsold Philips and Boat earphones together in 2017 = 22000 + 26000 = 48,000
Total number of earphones sold by JBL and Skullcandy together in 2017 = 54000 + 60000 = 1,14,000
Required ratio = 48000:114000 = 8:19
